San Diego Repertory Theatre Latinx New Play Festival

I can't express what it meant to me to be surrounded by amazing Latinx artists, both in the rehearsal room and in the theatre.  The cast was: Carla Navarro, Hannah Trujillo, Bernardo Pacheco, John Wells, and Natalia Delgado. And I got to work with Santiago Iacinti as Director, Leticia Garcia as Dramaturg, and Bea Gonzales as Stage Manager.

Athena Project Plays in Progress

A Driving Beat received a staged reading in Denver, CO as part of Athena Project's Plays in Progress.  It was so great to work on the play with another amazing cast in: Runner Francisco, Martha Sandvold, and Laura Chavez.  Mare Trevathan directed and Jessica Kahkoska served as dramaturg.

The Playwrights Realm Scratchpad Series

I can't believe how lucky I am to work with such an amazing company on Las Pajaritas, a play that is very close to my heart.  We workshopped the play for a week, with days off in between for rewrites.  On Thursday, December 13th, there was an invited staged reading at The Drama League.  The cast consisted of the incredible Jacqui Guillén, Annie Henk, and Zuleyma Guevara.  I also felt incredibly lucky to have Rebecca Martinez direct and Alexis Williams in the room as dramaturg.

The American Playbook

A Driving Beat was recorded for the American Playbook, bt the HBMG Foundation and the Bay Area Playwrights Foundation.  I got to work with a dream cast: Jed Parsario, Ann Zárate, Laura Espino, and Amanda Bermudez.  I am very excited about the larger audience that will be able to receive this play in podcast form.  The audio can be found here or on your mobile device.

KCACTF Region 2

This year KCACTF Region 2 was in Indiana, Pennsylvania.  After a week of intense rehearsals and rewrites with my first play, Inevitable, I was very proud of the stage reading that was performed on Saturday.

National Winter Playwrights Retreat

I feel so lucky to have had a week in Creede Colorado surrounded by an extremely talented group of artists.  I arrived on Sunday and between then and Thursday had written a brand new play.  After a cold reading of A Driving Beat on Thursday, I began the long journey of rewriting the first draft.

Stella Adler Studio of Acting

I was lucky enough to have a table read of Restore at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.  It's been a long time since I've looked at this play.  After a semester of grad school and with some smart notes from the actors, I have some new ideas for rewrites that I am excited to dive into.

Kentucky Women Writers Conference

I received a scholarship to attend the conference and take a two day playwriting workshop with Martyna Majok.  I learned a lot from her about character development that I am excited to implement moving forward.
